LEAGUE INFO PAGE
Welcome to the Tri-Boro Council of Churches Softball League Info Page!!!
The league was formed many, many years ago. It is unknown at this time when, exactly, the league was formed. It dates back to around the 1940's or earlier as far as we know, we'll have to check with Marvin Snow (a longtime player with Epworth Methodist and former commissioner). The league is a good way to stay in touch with friends and have good fun among the churches in the area. Another interesting point is that it is believed that this is the first website relating to this league. Originally, the league was formed using teams from the Cinnaminson, Palmyra, and Riverton (Tri-boro) area, but now, teams from other communities have participated. Bob Poppert is the league commissioner (a role he has served in for many years) and Howard Crowley is the assistant commissioner. There will be a 22-game schedule this year. After 2 strikes, the 2nd foul ball is an out. Double wall bats are legal, triple wall is not. The season starts May 13th (Our first game is May 14th). Also, not that our team had this problem, a new rule outlaws drinking DURING A GAME, the player drinking will be ejected. This year, we have seven teams. The league contains two divisions. That leaves the following teams for the 2002 season:
DAVID DIVISION
Christ Episcopal
Delran Methodist
Epworth Methodist
St. Mary's
GOLIATH DIVISION
Covenant Presbyterian
Our Lady of Perpetual Help
Calvery Temple
